O&M Mechanical Site Engineer – Solar PV (Greece)

About the role

JUWI is seeking a motivated O&M Mechanical Site Engineer to support a cluster of utility‑scale solar PV plants in the Kozani and Grevena regions of Western Macedonia. You will be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation and maintenance of tracker systems, mounting structures and related mechanical infrastructure, working closely with the O&M Site Manager and on‑call rotation.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections and troubleshooting on tracker systems, mounting structures and associated mechanical infrastructure according to the Facility Operation Plan and OEM instructions.
• Collaborate with Control Room personnel and Electrical Site Engineers to respond to alarms, investigate faults and coordinate timely corrective actions.
• Coordinate subcontractors, OEM service teams and site services, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule and to quality standards.
• Support spare‑parts and warranty‑claim activities, maintaining accurate work orders, maintenance records and technical documentation.
• Ensure compliance with HSE, permit‑to‑work and LOTO requirements and participate in the on‑call and emergency‑response rota.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in construction, commissioning, operation or maintenance of PV plants, power plants or comparable industrial assets.
• Ability to interpret drawings, layouts, OEM manuals and technical procedures.
• Good knowledge of written and spoken English and fluent Greek.
• Valid driving licence.

Required skills

• Tracker system maintenance and mechanical infrastructure inspection.
• Interpretation of drawings and OEM manuals.
• MV/HV substation operations, grid‑connection and protection systems.
• Utility‑scale inverter and tracker technology knowledge.
• Plant performance analysis and root‑cause analysis.
• MV switching operations (authorization advantageous).
• Proficiency with MS Office and digital maintenance/ticketing systems.
