Junior Chief Accountant

About the role

Join the newly opened luxury hotel Conrad Athens The Ilisian as a Junior Chief Accountant. You will lead the accounting team, manage financial reporting, and ensure the integrity of all financial data, playing a key part in the hotel’s financial performance.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger maintenance, bookkeeping and financial reporting.
• Prepare, review and analyse financial statements in line with company policies and applicable standards (GAAP/IFRS).
• Monitor financial performance through budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
• Manage timely completion of monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
• Supervise tax return preparation and ensure compliance with local, state and national regulations.
• Develop, implement and maintain internal controls to protect hotel assets.
• Collaborate with department heads and senior management to provide actionable financial insights.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role, preferably within the hospitality industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field; CPA certification is a plus.
• Strong understanding of hospitality accounting practices, financial regulations and reporting standards.
• Proven ability to lead and develop an accounting team.
• Fluency in Greek and English; additional languages are advantageous.

Required skills

• Proficiency with SAP ERP.
• Experience using Opera PMS.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP or IFRS reporting standards.
