Full-Time Shadow Teacher for Primary School

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated full‑time Shadow Teacher to provide one‑to‑one support to a primary‑school child at Verita International Primary School. The role focuses on ensuring the child’s safety, emotional wellbeing, confidence, independence, and positive social development throughout the school day.

Key responsibilities

• Provide continuous, on‑site supervision and support during all school activities.
• Ensure the child’s safety and wellbeing in classrooms, playgrounds, and during transitions.
• Offer emotional reassurance and help the child regulate feelings of anxiety or distress.
• Promote confidence, self‑esteem, and independence in daily routines.
• Facilitate positive interactions with peers and staff, and support respectful behaviour.
• Maintain accurate daily notes on observations, incidents, and support provided.
• Communicate regularly with the homeroom teacher and school team about the child’s progress and needs.
• Adhere to all safeguarding, health, safety, and child‑protection policies.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Child Development, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of experience working with children who need additional support.
• Experience providing one‑to‑one support in a school or similar setting.
• Strong understanding of child safety, emotional wellbeing, and positive behaviour support.
• Fluent in English, patient, calm, empathetic, and reliable.
