Field Solutions Engineer – Presales for Defense Aircraft

About the role

The Presales Solutions Engineer provides technical expertise and support to customers before the sale of Shield AI aircraft and related products, collaborating closely to understand requirements and demonstrate how solutions meet mission needs.

Key responsibilities

• Lead technical capture efforts for European opportunities, focusing on V‑BAT and the broader Shield AI product suite.
• Manage multiple priorities including customer engagements, pre‑sales technical support, proposal contributions, and solution development.
• Develop and execute technical strategies that produce high‑quality, compliant proposals to maximize win probability.
• Serve as primary technical lead for go‑to‑market engagements in Europe, coordinating with BD, engineering, operations, program and product management.
• Produce and maintain technical content for proposals, RFIs, white papers and capability briefs.
• Act as subject‑matter expert for BD and account teams, delivering technical briefings and supporting competitive analysis.

Required profile

• 5+ years of experience in technical presales, business development or solutions engineering, preferably in defense, aerospace or AI‑driven technology.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
• Experience working with U.S. Federal or international government requirements.
• Proven leadership experience and strong analytical/problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication skills to translate complex technical concepts for diverse audiences.
