Experienced External Auditor

About the role

Grant Thornton Greece is seeking a highly motivated Experienced External Auditor to join its Audit team in Thessaloniki. You will work closely with dynamic professionals and a diverse client base, delivering high‑quality audit services across multiple industries.

Key responsibilities

• Execute audit engagements for a wide range of industries and business types.
• Perform risk assessments, substantive testing, and internal control evaluations.
• Draft and review financial statements in accordance with Greek GAAP and IFRS.
• Liaise directly with clients to ensure transparency, efficiency, and excellent service.
• Coach and mentor junior team members on‑the‑job.
• Contribute to audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting phases.
• Participate in continuous improvement and digital transformation of audit processes.
• Ensure compliance with relevant auditing and ethical standards.
• Maintain frequent interaction with customers and deliver outstanding client service.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in audit.
• Ongoing or completed professional audit qualification (ACA or ACCA).
• Ability to work in a team and meet tight deadlines.
• Fluent communication skills in Greek and English.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• Fulfilled military service obligations.
• Strong work ethic and motivation for career progression.
