Data Engineering Manager - Data Architect

About the role

EY is looking for a Data Engineering Manager who will also act as a Data Architect. You will join the AI & Data team within the Technology Consulting practice, helping clients transform complex data ecosystems into scalable, cloud‑native platforms.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of scalable, cloud‑native data architectures, including lakehouse, streaming, and batch processing solutions.
• Translate complex business and functional requirements into robust, future‑proof technical designs.
• Mentor and guide engineering teams, promoting best practices in data engineering, cloud platforms, DevOps, and CI/CD.
• Conduct data discovery and assessment workshops, providing architectural guidance on integration, transformation, storage, and access patterns.
• Drive technical leadership across end‑to‑end project delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives and timelines.
• Manage stakeholder expectations, prioritize technical workstreams, and oversee concurrent engagements with a focus on quality, scalability, and sustainability.

Required profile

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or a related quantitative field.
• At least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
• Proven experience leading teams.
• Hands‑on experience with modern data architectures such as data lakehouse, streaming and batch processing.
