Cook – Shelter Kitchen

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Cook to support the daily food service operations at its shelter for unaccompanied migrant children in Greece. Working under the Project Coordinator and Shelter Coordinator, you will help plan, prepare, and serve nutritious meals for children and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise the cleanliness of the kitchen and all equipment.
• Prepare and cook breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack items, typically twice per day.
• Record kitchen supplies, monitor shortages, and submit inventory reports.
• Assist in meal planning and preparation according to the shelter’s schedule.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.

Required profile

• Previous experience working as a cook in institutional or shelter settings.
• Ability to follow instructions from the Project and Shelter Coordinators.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Commitment to a respectful and inclusive workplace.
