Assistant Accountant

About the role

ECOVIS Hellas is seeking a motivated Assistant Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting and bookkeeping for a diverse portfolio of Greek and international clients. Working closely with experienced accountants, you will gain hands‑on experience across multiple industries while contributing to the firm’s high‑quality financial services.

Key responsibilities

• Record and review invoices, expenses, bank transactions and other accounting entries.
• Provide administrative support and maintain the accounting database with accurate data entry and reporting.
• Assist with VAT returns, withholding taxes and other periodic tax obligations.
• Handle Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and payroll processing.
• Communicate with clients to collect accounting information and resolve routine matters.
• Monitor deadlines to ensure timely completion of accounting and tax‑related tasks.
• Support the preparation of financial reports, statements and supporting schedules.
• Participate in month‑end and year‑end closing procedures.
• Submit accounting data through myDATA and other relevant platforms.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• 1‑3 years of practical accounting experience.
• Good understanding of accounting principles.
• Very good written and spoken English.
• Strong organizational and time‑management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
