Application Support Specialist

About the role

We are seeking an Application Support Specialist to join our Athens team. You will ensure the reliability and performance of business applications, handling incidents, requests, and changes while collaborating with technical and business stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain SLAs and KPIs for support projects, guaranteeing consistent service quality.
• Manage incidents, requests, problems, and changes across supported applications using ticketing systems.
• Investigate, analyze, and resolve first‑level operational and business issues without requiring development interventions.
• Use SQL to query, analyze, and verify data to identify root causes and support issue resolution.
• Leverage logging, monitoring, and observability tools to detect, diagnose, and track application events and anomalies.
• Utilize API testing tools such as Postman to troubleshoot system‑to‑system interface issues and validate data exchanges.
• Collaborate closely with technical teams, business stakeholders, and external partners to resolve complex issues and ensure service continuity.
• Contribute to continuous‑improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance support processes and application performance.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a related technical field.
• At least 2 years of experience in application or operational support for business applications.
• Proven ability to investigate and resolve issues in production environments.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.

Required skills

• SQL for data querying and analysis.
• Understanding of web application architecture and REST APIs.
• Experience with API testing tools (e.g., Postman).
• Familiarity with logging, monitoring and observability tools.
• Experience using ticketing and ITSM platforms such as ServiceNow or Jira Service Management.
• Knowledge of core networking concepts (DNS, SSL/TLS, reverse proxy, firewalls).
