Amharic‑Tigrinya Interpreter & Cultural Mediator (English) – Chios

About the role

Seprotec seeks a qualified Interpreter and Cultural Mediator to support migration and asylum activities in Chios, Greece. The assignment runs from September 7th to September 18th and requires face‑to‑face interpreting between Amharic, Tigrinya and English.

Key responsibilities

• Provide on‑site, face‑to‑face interpreting services for Amharic ↔ Tigrinya and English.
• Facilitate cultural mediation between refugees, asylum seekers and service providers.
• Assist in communication during interviews, meetings and community outreach events.

Required profile

• Native or near‑native proficiency in Amharic and Tigrinya (C1/C2).
• Strong English communication skills (minimum B2).
• At least three years of experience in interpreting or cultural mediation, preferably in humanitarian, migration or asylum contexts.
• Currently working as a freelance interpreter.
• Valid European residence and work permit.
• Based in Chios or able to relocate for the assignment.
