Account Director

About the role

As an Account Director at Sedna you will be responsible for winning new logos across the commodities and owner/operator/charterer segments while also expanding relationships with existing key customers. This senior, strategic sales position involves full‑cycle prospecting, closing new shipping and trading companies, and acting as a trusted advisor to major accounts to drive revenue growth.

Key responsibilities

• Develop deep industry knowledge of maritime commodities, owners, operators and charterers to tailor approaches for each prospect.
• Build and qualify a pipeline of high‑potential new‑logo prospects, conduct discovery calls and deliver tailored demos.
• Lead the full sales cycle from scoping and negotiation to closing, ensuring commercial rigour and customer‑centricity.
• Design and execute account strategies for key customers, engaging senior stakeholders to identify upsell and expansion opportunities.
• Collaborate with solutions consultancy, Customer Success, Product and Implementation teams to ensure smooth roll‑outs and adoption of expanded services.
• Manage contract renewals and expansions, aligning commercial terms with growth targets and customer needs.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of client‑facing sales or account management experience, with a proven record of winning new logos and growing strategic accounts.
• Experience in the shipping or maritime industry is highly valued.
• Self‑motivated, able to thrive under pressure without needing external push.
• Excellent communicator who can convey messages clearly and listen actively.
• Emotionally intelligent with strong conflict‑resolution and empathy skills.
• Technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn modern technologies.
