Software Architect – Enterprise & Public Sector Projects

About the role

Our client is looking for an experienced Software Architect to join a leading international software organisation and contribute to the architecture and delivery of large‑scale enterprise and public sector digital transformation projects. The position is based in Athens and follows a hybrid work model.

Key responsibilities

• Define scalable, secure and high‑performance end‑to‑end architectures.
• Translate business requirements into technical designs and implementation roadmaps.
• Design backend/frontend architectures, APIs, integrations and data flows.
• Drive microservices, REST/SOAP API and modernisation initiatives.
• Provide architectural oversight across the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Conduct architecture/code reviews and manage technical risks.
• Collaborate with Developers, QA, DevOps, Project Managers and senior stakeholders.
• Participate in client workshops, technical proposals, RFPs and solution presentations.
• Mentor engineering teams and provide technical direction.

Required profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field.
• Significant experience in software engineering, architecture and technical design.
• Strong expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices and Enterprise APIs.
• Experience with ReactJS and/or Angular.
• Strong knowledge of databases, integrations and distributed systems.
• Experience with cloud, containers, orchestration, DevOps and CI/CD.
• Enterprise or public sector project experience is highly valued.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills in Greek and English.
