Senior IT Auditor

About the role

As a Senior IT Auditor at Danaos, you will provide hands‑on audit coverage over technology systems and controls, working closely with both technology and business teams to ensure robust IT governance and risk management.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver risk‑based audits of IT systems, infrastructure, enterprise applications and digital platforms.
• Assess design and operating effectiveness of IT general controls such as access management, change management, backup and recovery.
• Review application and security controls across ERP, cloud and other critical environments, including configurations and segregation of duties.
• Evaluate cybersecurity and IT‑resilience controls using security reports, system logs, vulnerability assessments and penetration‑testing results.
• Identify control weaknesses, communicate findings and work with stakeholders to implement practical recommendations.
• Monitor corrective actions and validate remediation effectiveness.
• Provide advisory input on SDLC, system implementations, digital transformation, AI and automation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Engineering or related field.
• 3‑5 years of relevant experience, including at least 2 years of hands‑on IT audit or technology‑controls assurance.
• Professional certification such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CISSP or ISO 27001 Lead Auditor (or progress toward one).
• Strong analytical and communication skills with ability to translate technical findings into business implications.

Required skills

• IT general controls (access, change, operations, backup, monitoring).
• Application controls, cybersecurity, cloud environments, and SDLC.
• Experience with ERP systems and data‑analytics techniques.
• Knowledge of frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST, COBIT.
• Familiarity with AI‑enabled audit techniques and maritime technology contexts.
