Senior Accountant

About the role

HERACLES Group, a leading building‑materials company in Greece, is looking for a Senior Accountant to join its Finance function at the head office in Athens. You will ensure accurate recording of transactions, support month‑end and year‑end closings, and maintain compliance with accounting standards and internal policies.

Key responsibilities

• Manage the full accounting cycle, including general ledger, journal entries, accruals, provisions and reporting.
• Perform month‑end and year‑end closing activities and prepare financial statements.
• Conduct account reconciliations, investigate discrepancies and reconcile inter‑company transactions.
• Support the preparation of management reports and tax audit documentation.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to improve financial processes and drive automation.
• Ensure compliance with myDATA requirements and coordinate with the Shared Services Center.
• Provide accounting assistance to Fixed Assets and Inventory accountants.
• Handle ad‑hoc requests and participate in special projects as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• Minimum 5 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in a senior role.
• Proven experience preparing complete financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local tax legislation.
