Budget and Monitoring Assistant

About the role

The International Organization for Migration is seeking a Budget and Monitoring Assistant to support financial monitoring and reporting for its Country Office in Greece. Working under the Head of Resources Management and the Senior Budget Associate, the role will ensure accurate budget tracking and compliance with internal and external standards.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring and reporting on the Country Office’s budget and expenditures.
• Prepare periodic financial reports and updates for senior management.
• Support compliance with IOM financial policies and international accounting standards.
• Coordinate with the IOM Regional Office in Brussels and relevant units within the Greece office.
• Provide data and analysis for budget revisions and forecasts.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Management, Accounting or a related field, or a high‑school diploma with at least four years of relevant experience.
• Minimum two years of professional experience in a similar budgeting or monitoring function.
• Experience working with international humanitarian, non‑governmental or governmental organizations is preferred.
• Willingness to relocate to Athens if required and ability to travel as needed.

Required skills

• Knowledge of International Public Sector Accounting Standards (IPSAS) – advantage.
