About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a Social Worker to support its five accommodation centres for unaccompanied migrant children in Athens. The role contributes to the 24/7 operation of the shelters, ensuring that children receive comprehensive care and assistance.

Key responsibilities

  • Provide accommodation and basic needs support, including food and hygiene assistance.
  • Offer legal counselling and information about life opportunities in Greece.
  • Deliver interpretation, psychosocial, and medical support to unaccompanied migrant children.
  • Facilitate Greek language learning programmes, learning support, and intercultural activities.
  • Provide work and career guidance, helping children plan their future pathways.

Required profile

  • Work under the overall supervision of the Project Coordinator (or designate) and the direct supervision of the Shelter Coordinator.
  • Commitment to IOM’s inclusive and respectful workplace values.
