Education Manager – Adult Learning Programs

About the role

The Education Manager will lead the informal adult education programme at Lifting Hands International’s community centre in Serres, Greece. Working with refugees and asylum‑seekers, you will create a supportive learning environment that combines language instruction with psychosocial support.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee English and French language classes for adults, adapting curricula to meet evolving community needs.
• Recruit, induct and mentor a diverse team of visiting teachers and community volunteers.
• Design, update and evaluate teaching materials, both physical and digital, and manage the programme’s library.
• Organise class schedules, registrations and conduct regular community needs assessments.
• Prepare weekly and monthly activity reports and manage the allocated budget responsibly.
• Collaborate with the Director of Operations, other programme leads and partner NGOs to share resources and best practices.
• Explore the introduction of additional language courses, such as Greek, based on demand.

Required profile

• Proven experience in formal or informal education settings, preferably with adult learners.
• Demonstrated ability to teach English and develop curricula.
• Experience working in humanitarian or refugee contexts is an advantage.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to coordinate volunteers.
